THE PINK RIBBON PROGRAM ™

Having qualified in 2012 as a rehabilitative breast cancer specialist allows me to teach those affected by breast cancer and adjuvant treatment to regain mobility, strength and improve their quality of life.

Being taught by Doreen Puglisi, herself a breast cancer survivor and creator of the Pink Ribbon Program, and seeing close friends go through breast cancer treatment gave me a deeper understanding of the way in which it can affect both physical and mental well-being.

Past recommendation would have been to rest but studies have shown a link between moderate physical exercise and improved quality of life.

All the exercises I teach are pilates based and will involve stretching and strengthening of the shoulders, chest, back and abdominal muscles.

The exercises are especially beneficial to those who have had surgery for mastectomy, lumpectomy, lymph node removal and reconstruction but will also benefit those who received treatment several years ago.

BENEFITS OF THE PINK RIBBON PROGRAM ™

  • Increase energy levels

  • Improve sleep/alleviate fatigue

  • Reduce feelings of depression

  • Enhance physical and mental well-being

  • Improve self confidence
